Our Twin Nursery Reveal!

When it comes to bringing home a new baby (or babies!) from the hospital, there’s nothing more exciting to me than having a beautiful space waiting for them. We had a lot of fun getting creative and transforming Hudson’s old room into a nursery passion project. My initial inspiration was minimalistic modern boho, but as we got moving in creating the space it felt right to add accents of both colour and botanicals for character.
Here is the before and after!
We certainly had limited space to work with, but the end result came together perfectly. The most challenging part was strategizing the placement of two cribs that the twins could peak at each other in. This is where Storkcraft really came through, and I cannot say enough good things about this small family-owned Canadian company. Storkcraft is just as passionate about the quality and safety of their products as they are of their aesthetic. We decided on two Beckett 3-in-1 Convertible Cribs in “Natural” and they were the perfect choice. This design has won awards for its clean, adaptable design and the wood accents absolutely fulfilled my initial inspiration.
I was contacted by Tori, the very sweet founder and CEO of New Arrivals Inc. earlier this year about custom designing bedding for the twins. Tori has celebrated 20 years in the handmade baby boutique bedding business, and has worked with many celebrities on building their dream nursery. Together over email and Instagram messenger, we were able to create my vision for their bedding, customized crib protectors and swaddles from my inspiration pictures, samples on her website and fabric colour swatches.
Tori has so kindly extended me a 20% off discount for my followers valid until October 31st- use code Mommamillsblog20 at check out. Attaching each of my selections below for your reference.
Customizable crib rail protectors
For our jungle animal art, I selected beautiful prints from Embla Home, and mounted them with some affordable frames from JYSK. These pieces definitely brought some adorable youth to the room and the quality of the prints is amazing. My 25% off code is NATASHA25.
For the beautiful tassel textured wall art, The Cozy Wall created me a custom piece with gold rings to tie in with my curtain rod (which was a spray painted DIY!). She is an incredibly talented local artist and my exclusive 10% off code is mommamills10. Shop from her beautiful work on Etsy here– she loves to customize!
We decided to go with the Hudson Changer Dresser because it combines a changing table, a three drawer dresser and storage cabinet all in one space-conserving unit. We got ours at Momease Baby Boutique– a favourite local small business selling innovative furniture, baby gear and parenting accessories. It’s removable change table fits the Keekaroo Peanut Changer perfectly, which I’m sure has already saved us a dozen loads of laundry. Its strong outer shell makes it impermeable to ANY fluid, so clean up is easy.
For their closet, we took off the doors to create more space and assembled an Ikea storage unit and seagrass cubes to allow for more organization.
We purchased our beautiful rocking chair from Babies R Us, however, this exact cream colour is out of stock. You can find it in light grey from Lennox Furniture here. It is so comfortable and reclines right back.
I love having real plants thriving in the home, and am obsessed with our large fig tree in the corner of the nursery. I added a few other tropicals as well to tie in with my jungle animals.
For our reading space, we purchased a few larger floating shelves from Home Depot, and the smaller ones are from Ikea spray painted white.
The white shag rug, light fixture, laundry bin, circular mirror and sheer curtains are from Home Sense. 🙂
I hope you enjoyed our nursery transformation as much as I loved creating it!
