The Happy Hours of Boom + Batten

A few months ago I was on a run along the downtown waterfront and came across a modern development coming to completion. I stopped in my tracks to read that Boom + Batten would be a restaurant and café opening soon in Victoria BC and knew instantaneously that it would be an exceptional place. It takes a special kind of establishment to match the magic inside to the scenery outside that surrounding area. Undoubtedly the location is stunning, but what’s more is Boom’s ability to deliver on a unique variety of food, distinguishing drinks and memorable customer service. A farm-to-table menu tailored for breakfast, brunch and dinner, this west coast-inspired dining experience is worth reliving time and time again. Unsurprisingly, the new hot spot is frequently full and therefore we’ve loved to take advantage of their food and beverage specials on the happy hour menu during the week from 2-5pm and 9-11pm.
Regardless of meeting for business or pleasure, the happy hours of Boom + Batten make for the perfect opportunity to sample the highlights of their regular dine-in menus. I’m always a fan of the Mission Hill wine selections and Mitch will enjoy a refreshing Peroni Italian draft beer. Even if only an hour, it’s an incredible spot to reconnect when it’s a little less busy. The location truly makes you feel as though you’re on vacation somewhere south of France. It’s that pretty.
Thoughtful appetizers like pickled shiitake, french fries, confit chicken and parmesan meatballs are great options to start off with and share. For a bigger portion, I highly recommend the clams served with fresh bread and all of their signature wood fired oven pizzas. For a sweet treat, don’t forget to taste their classic “Jam Buster” – a doughnut-like dessert filled with house-made jam and coated with cinnamon sugar.
I hope you enjoy this special place as much as I do, and as always thanks for following along!
Love, Momma Mills
